About This Painting
This painting is chock full of emotions. I painted this in the hours after the Meron tragedy in Israel, in June 2021 a major tragically where 45 people lost their lives. In this painting, a group of Jewish people are gathered at the Western Wall – Kosel, which is in fact what took place immediately after the tragedy. They lifted up each other in harmony, like brothers and sisters with one beating heart. There is tremendous comfort to be found in the collectiveness of the Jewish people; when one Jew is in pain, the entire nation mourns with that person. We’re truly never alone. We stand together, ready to greet Moshiach. “Mi Ke’amcha Yisrael,” who is like your people, Israel.
This is acrylic with pallet knife, gold leaf and texture, on canvas.
