About This Painting
Jerusalem is an ancient, mystical city and the homeland for Jews all over the world. It’s a place of peace and wholeness, and the Western Wall is a site for praying and deeply connecting with God. Jews turn to face the city when they are praying no matter where they are in the world. Many travel to Israel to visit the city and slip their written prayers into the cracks of the Western Wall. Jerusalem radiates pure beauty and warmth, and the presence of God can truly be felt in every corner of the city.
Jerusalem also houses the world’s largest synagogue. Despite the challenges faced by Jerusalem and the Jewish nation, the city has always belonged to the Jews, no matter who had control over it. For that reason, Jerusalem is a beacon of hope, a representation of paradise, and a place of unity for all Jews. Jerusalem means “total awe,” and that is the best way to describe how it feels to be in this city. This Judaic painting by Nechama Fine Art elicits the intricacies of this incredible city.
