About This Painting
This stunning pastel depiction of the Kotel shows a side view of the wall and a group of devoted Jews praying at the bottom. While the Kotel has many somber and serious connotations, this painting reminds us that we should be joyful in our faith and commitment to God. Bright pinks and greens make up the ancient blocks and give the Kotel a modern, vibrant appearance. The Kotel is thought of as a place of quiet prayer and introspection, but this pastel illustration of the Western Wall sheds new light on the most significant religious site in Jerusalem. The Kotel is a remnant of the Holy Temple, and Jews from all corners of the earth travel to Jerusalem to pray at this site of history, heritage, and spiritual significance.
